Chancel Choir
- an adult choir that practices from 7:30-8:30 p.m. each Wednesday, and enhances the richness of each Sunday morning 11:00 a.m. worship service

Kids

• Children’s Hand Bell Choir meets in the sanctuary each Sunday from 5-5:30pm. All children ages 5 years – 5th grade are invited to make music with us.
• Children’s Church each Sunday during the 11:00 service.
• Children’s Sunday school begins each week at 9:50am. This is for ages 2 years – 5th grade. Materials are Cokesbury, Exploring Faith.
• Weekly summer programs for 3rd – 5th grades. More info soon!

Youth

Aldersgate offers many activities for both the Jr. High and Sr. High youth. On Sundays from 4:00 to 5:00pm all students are welcome to join the Praise Choir Practice in the Fellowship Hall. The students are fabulous singers and enjoy performing contemporary Christian music. Following Praise Choir is Youth Fellowship from 5:00 – 6:30pm. This is an informal time of fellowship, fun and a devotional. A snack supper is provided each week.
• Wednesday Night Bible Study: 6:30 – 7:30pm
• Palms of Grace is a worship through signing and music. This is an amazing ministry in our youth. Sunday 4:00pm in the sanctuary.
• 30 Hour Famine: every April our Youth fasts and prays for 30 hours. Can you do that?
• Youth Ski Trip: every February
• Springmaid Retreat: twice a year to the beach.
• Salkehatchie Mission Trip: every summer
• S.A.M.: Sumter Area Missions

Young Adults

- a special program at Aldersgate designed to offer a Sunday School class that caters to our young adults. They also enjoy Fun Nights Out together and yahoogroups site. Contact Wes Conner for more information.

Methodist Men

- a group of church men who perform community services, such as building handicap ramps and running canned food drives. The group meets monthly on the 4th Thursday of the month.  For more information please contact Milt Shuping at mshuping@yahoo.com

United Methodist Women

- Purpose: "The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of Mission through participation in the Global Ministries of the Church."

Parents Morning Out

- a reservation-based childcare program that offers quality care in a Christian environment for children ages 6 months through 5 years; it is staffed by loving, trained adults who interact with the children through structured play, learning centers, playground time, circle time and snack time; circle time offers music, stories, and show and tell

It will be open this summer for children ages 6 months – 4th grade. They will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week from 9:00am – 12:00 noon beginning the week of June 5th through the week of August 14th. They will offer an optional “Lunch Bunch” from 12 noon – 1:00pm each day. There will be weekly themes including the following: "Circus", "Survivor", "Scrapbooking", "Nature", "Sand and Water", "Music" and more. Sunday School

- a variety of informal classes with open discusssion, offered each Sunday morning, to foster growth of Biblical knowledge and Christ's teachings

B.I.G. Wednesdays (Believe in God)

- a mid-week worship opportunity where we offer a simple supper, Bible studies for youth and adults, kids club (ages 3 through 5th grade), and nursery for those under age 3

Bible Study

- bible studies are offered through the year on various topics for all ages

Knurturing Knitters

- a group which meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month in the Seekers classroom at 10 a.m. The knitters create and give away "prayer/healing shawls" to those who need some extra tender-loving care and prayer. They welcome those who don't know how to knit, as they will happily teach you! Bring along size 15 needles and three skeins of Lion Brand Homespun yarn, which can be found at Wal-mart, Hobby Lobby, or A.C. Moore.
